    Car Insurance FAQ's

    Doubts Often Expressed

In the process of buying a car and obtaining the insurance, there are many steps involved in between giving way to a number of questions to be answered. Let us now know the clarifications for the doubts that are expressed and answered by previous car owners and the insurers or make a guess picture.

    Model of the Car

The Insurers collect the details of registration of the car, which enables them to know the shape and size of the car that is being insured. This process is accessed through internet and in case if the model of the car is not understood by them, the insurer's assistance can be taken.

    Driving in another country

Driving in foreign countries with the car insured in a particular country need to attain international insurance, which will generally be valid up to three months. The amount of coverage will be comparatively lesser and the further validity will need an additional amount of premium to be paid. Anyhow, as far as legal protection is concerned, one should be able to arrange their own security since this aspect will not be covered under international Car Insurance.

    Age plays a key role

A Car Insurance company expects minimum loss or damage to be occurred. The percentage of accidents will be more in lower age groups i.e., students and other young drivers. Insurance seekers who are aged above 25 years with good driving background will have lower risk factor compared with students and young drivers. Old people generally drive with all possible precautions. Therefore the Rate of Premium demanded by the insurance companies will be lesser for older people, less for the age group of above 25, and more for the students and young drivers. Inexperienced beginners starting with an old have obviously need to pay a high rate of premium.

Try to lower the amount to be paid

Staying in a place which is not much exposed to heavy traffic and accidents, driving according to the speed rules laid avoiding penalties, taking all necessary precautions against robbery or accidents lowers the amount of premium.

    Cancellation of Insurance

Cancellation of insurance can be done by returning all the papers received from the insurance company and the company in return pays back the amounts paid but this will be decreased in case of any claims made in between the period of returning the documents and the date of documentation. Generally Insurance companies leave a marginal period of two weeks to take back the policy and this should be informed before seven days.

Questions and doubts arise depending on the person and the circumstances and we shall go on with many more doubts and clarifications in another article.
