Bupa’s Health Insurance arm Registers Profits even in times of Recession

Despite the financial crisis in the UK, Bupa’s insurance wing had a successful 2008. The Health Insurance company witnessed an increase of 38% in their new business covering critical illness, life assurance and income protection.

Head of product development and marketing Steve Casey said attributed the increase in such tough times to the quality of their products and intermediary partners and commitment to innovation. Steve Casey also continues to elaborate that they do not remain satisfied with their laurels but strive hard to improve it further. To attract new customers, Bupa has reduced the cost of critical illness cover by 3%, while claims paid out on the product last year was £93,000.
