The most horrifying finding of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) was that there were 4,300 dishonest Travel Insurance claims worth £5m the previous year.

This has raised a red alert among the insurers and overseas police forces. As a result, ABI said that if anyone was caught cheating their insurers, then they would have to face higher insurance costs and other problems pertaining to their motor and house insurance. Both, the insurers as well as the overseas police forces are now more vigilant than before and have maintained industry-wide databases regarding the fraudulent claims. If one is held over a fraudulent claim, then he will face the consequences. He won’t be lent money so easily in future and he may also face prosecution. (more…)

British Travel Insurance Customers could Experience Cheaper Holidays

Foreign exchange specialist HiFX suggests that in the coming days, British Travel Insurance customers could find their holidays less expensive. According to HiFX, pound is likely to become stronger following the announcement of European Central Bank or ECB that sterling was up by 0.36 per cent against the Euro. Currency strategist Marc Cogliatti said that though foreign trips could become less expensive it will not reach the low as it was two years ago. (more…)

Travel Insurance Enquiries Increase This Season

With the approaching summer months, there has been a surge in the travel insurance enquiries according to Confused, an insurance service provider. Compared to last year, the firm has registered a rise of almost 63 per cent the number of people enquiring for travel insurance policies. Travel Companies Flout FSA Regulations

The latest report published by the World First Travel Insurance states that more than 25% travel operators flout rules that comply with Financial Services Authority (FSA) rules regarding the sale of travel cover. The World First Travel Insurance discovered that some travel companies were operating illegally.
