Insure your valuable assets in your Home Insurance Policy

Halifax Home Insurance reveals that one in ten homeowners do not have their goods insured in their Home Insurance policy. Most of them do not have their home contents covered or are unaware of the value of the contents. Almost half of the respondents interviewed in the survey have no idea of the value of their belongings and almost three-quarters have never had their valuables assessed by an expert.

Head of underwriting at Halifax, David Rochester said that people would love to get compensation for things they lose in the event of a theft. So it is essential that if you have any valuable collection or asset it is best to get it valued by experts every two years and obtain a copy of the valuation certificate. According to Sainsbury’s Home Insurance’s calculations the average household contains £45,000 worth of assets.
