Pet Insurance Being Sacrificed Courtesy Credit Crunch

With pressure on finances mounting, the first thing that consumers are sacrificing is pet insurance. Pet Insurance has been hit hard by recession and pet owners are cutting down on insurance cover to make ends meet.

Reports from a recent study have revealed that almost 69% of pet owners would not sacrifice dining out or weekend getaways in order to pay hefty vet bills. Almost 10% of pet owners would first do a self diagnosis, and then administer human medicine before taking his pet to the vet for diagnosis. 69% of pet owners do not have a pet insurance and they take the health of their cats and dogs for granted. The report of More Than, also suggests that the credit crunch has put the health of pets at risk and owners delay their visit to their vet. Owning a pet is a huge responsibility and most owners are not taking it seriously.
